Keeping your iBroadcast library organized helps you find and enjoy your music quickly. You can manage your collection using playlists, tags, and smart sorting options. iBroadcast lets you group, filter, and label your music in ways that fit your listening habits. These tools work together to make large libraries manageable, whether you’re browsing on the web player or mobile apps.
Your music is automatically grouped by:
- Album
- Album Artist
- Track Artist
- Genre
- Release Year
- Date Uploaded
- Tags
- All Tracks
Browse these under My Library (web) or Library tab (mobile).
❓ Where does this info come from?
All of this info comes from the metadata embedded in your uploaded tracks. However, metadata can be missing or incorrect. If you see something wrong, you can change it by editing your library.
Within each category, there are additional sorting options such as by Name, Rating, or Year.
How to Sort:
- Web: Use the dropdown menu next to the search bar
- Mobile: Tap the A→Z icon to view sorting options
Click or tap the A→Z icon to reverse the order. You can search and sort at the same time.
❓ Tracks in an album are unexpectly out of order?
Check to make sure that sort view is set to the default order (Track Number), rather than another order like Track Length or Rating. Tap on the A→Z sort icon and set the sort view to default.
Turn on Save Sort View (Profile → Settings → Library) to keep your sort selection for the next session.
Enable Ignore Prefixes When Sorting in library settings to skip words like “The” (so “The Beatles” appears under B).
- Web: Settings → Search Settings → Ignore Prefixes When Sorting
- Mobile: Profile → Settings → Library → Ignore Prefixes When Sorting
Customize your list of ignored words under Search Settings on the website.
- Default: Searches are limited to the current category (e.g., Albums will only search album names)
- Enable “Search All Fields” to also include artist names, track titles, etc.
How to Enable:
- Web: Settings → Search Settings → Toggle “Search All Fields”
- Mobile: Library → Tap ? icon → Toggle “Search All Fields”
To see a summary of your library's contents:
- Web: Three dots next to My Library → Library Summary
- Mobile: Profile tab → view summary
- Includes:
- Tracks
- Albums
- Artists
- Playlists
- Plays
- Downloads (mobile)
- Approximate Size
You can also export a list of your library contents as a CSV on the website.
If your library isn’t updating:
Profile → Settings → Library → Refresh Library Now
- Web: Click the three dots next to Playlists → Select Create Playlist
- Mobile: Go to Playlists (bottom menu) → Tap Create new Playlist
- Single Song: Right click (web) or long press (mobile) → Select Add to Playlist
- Multiple Songs:
- Web: Use Shift + click to select, then right click → Add to Playlist
- Mobile: Long press → Choose Select Multiple → Add in bulk
There is no limit on number of playlists or tracks, though extremely large playlists may slow older devices.
- Web: Right click playlist name → Options (rename, change artwork, download tracks, tag, delete)
- Mobile: Long press playlist → Options
💡 Note: Deleting a playlist does not delete the tracks from your library. However, if you select "Trash Tracks" on mobile, it will delete the tracks.
Create a Playlist Folder:
- Web: Three dots next to Playlists → Create Folder → Add playlists to it
- Mobile: Playlist tab → (+) Create New → Create New Folder
❗Note : Playlist Folders are different from upload folders
- Upload all songs to your library first
- Web player → Three dots next to Playlists → Upload Playlist File
- Supported formats:
- M3U (follows M3U spec)
- Plain text with one song per line:
[count]. [track title] by [artist name]
[track title] by [artist name]
[track title]
You can review and fix matches before import.
Tags let you organize your library for easy searching, filtering, and creating custom playlists. Unlike other fields found under Edit Track / Album, tags are completely customizable and can be anything you want.
- You can tag tracks, albums, artists, playlists, etc.
❗Note: iBroadcast tags are not the same as metadata tags embedded in files.
Click on a tag from the side menu of the website to activate it. Once a tag is activated, you will only see items with that tag in your library.
- Once a tag is activated, a number of options will appear below it, including Untag, Invert, And, Play, and More Options, which includes Hide, Select/Deselect All, and Delete Selected Tags.
- Selecting multiple tags defaults to OR logic
- Use AND to only show results with all selected tags
- Browse by Tag: Library → Tags
- Add/Manage Tags: Long press track/album/artist
- Search with Tags: Tap Search → Enter tag names and operators
- Operators must be capitalized (
AND, OR, INVERT)
- Example:
Favorites AND Festival Hits
- Example:
INVERT Favorites AND Festival Hits
- Play Tag Results: Tap Play icon in search field
- Hide Tracks: Long press tag → Archive
- Unhide: Long press → Unarchive
- Activate Tags: Click a tag to filter results
- Create Tags: Click + next to Tags → Drag tag to item
- Delete Tags: Drag to trash or right click → Delete
- Rename Tags: Right click → Rename
- Combine Tags: Click multiple tags (defaults to OR)
- Invert Tags: Click tag(s) → Click Invert

- Play Tag Results: Click Play or right click tag → Play
- Hide Tracks: Activate tag → Click Hide
- Unhide: Click hidden tag → Choose Unhide
- Web: Right click playlist name or artwork → Select Tag Playlist
- Selected tags apply to all tracks in the playlist
Folders are automatically created when you upload music based on the folder structure that you used when uploading, and they are not currently editable.
- Playlists and Tags are good options for organizing music into different groups for listening
Nesting folders is not supported within iBroacast.
