When you first login to iBroadcast, you'll see a number of starter songs which act as sample data to help you familiarize yourself with the platform. However, to use Broadcast, you must upload your own music. iBroadcast is a personal music library streaming service where you can upload your own music and then play it the way that you would play music from a streaming service. No matter the size of your personal music collection, iBroadcast allows you to store and play it all in once place. The music is stored on our servers, and you can easily access and play it from anywhere using the iBroadcast website or app.
To get started, first upload music to your iBroadcast library by going to Add Music in the top left hand corner of the website. You can find more detailed info on uploading music in this article: Uploading Music.
Once your music is uploaded, there are many ways to edit and organize it. iBroadcast will automatically arrange your music by album, artist, genre, and year, but you can also create playlists or use tags to custom organize your music. Within each grouping, there are a variety of ways to filter, sort, and search. You can learn more about organizing your music here: Organizing Your Library.
You may also want to edit or correct data on your tracks. Audio files can come from a variety of sources, and sometimes the embedded metadata may be incorrect or incomplete. In general, most of the editing options can be accessed by either right clicking on a container (track, album, artist, playlist, etc.) on the website, or by long tapping a container on the mobile app. You can also change or upload your own artwork and even combine albums together. You can read more about editing your music here: Editing Your Library.
Finally, you may want to customize the appearance of your library. This can mean anything from using dark mode, to choosing a ratings system, to filtering your library to show only your downloaded tracks. iBroadcast has an extremely wide range of settings options because everyone's preferences are different, and we want you to be able to customize your library, your way. You can access the majority of these under the Settings gear icon on the website, or Profile > Settings > Library on the mobile app. You can explore the different settings options here: Library Display Settings.
Once your library is customized to your taste, you can get down to the fun part: playing music! You can play music via the web player or download the mobile app from the App Store or Google Play. Our player is fairly intuitive, with controls like play, pause, skip, repeat, shuffle, adjust speed, and volume controls. Most of these features are visibile on the mini player at the bottom of the screen, but you can expand the player to full screen mode on the website or app to see more options. Similar to our library settings, the playback settings are very customizeable and you can explore the options, such as crossfaded or gapless playback, sleep timers, bookmarks, and more under Playback Settings.
The Play Queue is a powerful tool with many settings of its own. By enabling OneQueue, you can share a single play queue among all of your devices, picking up on one where you left off on the other. Using the Radio feature, you can automatically add similar tracks to the queue when it's almost finished. You can find more info about playback settings here: Playing Music.
If you're often on the go or want to save data, you can download music for offline play on the mobile app. You can set the amount of device storage space dedicated to downloads, filter your library to view downloaded tracks only, and premium members can even choose the quality for downloaded tracks under Audio Quality Settings.
When you decide to expand your iBroadcast library, we make it easy to add more music. Our system is designed to automatically detect and skip duplicates so you can re-scan the same folder on your local device and only add what's new. You can read more about how the system handles duplicates within our article on Uploading Music.
Once you've mastered using iBroadcast on the web player or mobile app, you may want to connect iBroadcast with other devices. We support integration with Sonos, Alexa, Carplay and Android Auto, connecting with your TV, and casting using Chromecast and Airplay. The setup for each is a bit different, and you can read more in this article: Other Devices.
Because there are so many options, there is a bit of a learning curve to using iBroadcast, but our users appreciate the powerful customization tools. If you get stuck, there are numerous articles and answers to frequently asked questions in our Help Center.
